About the Driving Test
Once you have passed your theory test you can book a practical driving test. It will cost you £62 for the test. You will need to provide your own car, or hire your driving instructor's vehicle.
The vehicle you use must be taxed, insured and roadworthy. You must display "L" plates front and rear. All head restraints must be fitted. It must have a spare interior mirror for the examiner to use.
You will need to bring both parts of your driving licence, plus your theory test pass certificate.
The test will last approximately 40 minutes. It will begin with an eyesight test. You should be able to read a number plate from 21 metres.
Next is the Show me/ Tell me questions.
Then the examiner will ask you to take your seat, and then they will sit next to you and (hopefully) try to put your nerves at rest by being pleasant and friendly.
Now its up to you. Concentrate on what you want to achieve, don't let your mind wander, and in 40 minutes time you will be qualified to drive unaccompanied on every road in Europe.
